What EG4 Monitor reads from your batteries

Per-pack data from the EG4 BMS, gathered over RS485 and presented where you need it.

For every pack on the bus

ValueWhat you do with it
State of charge, capacity remainingPlan the evening, or the outage, with real numbers.
Voltage, current, powerSee which packs carry the load and whether the bank shares it evenly.
16 cell voltages, min / max / spreadSpot a weak cell before it caps the whole bank.
Cell and MOSFET temperaturesGarages and sheds get hot in summer; keep an eye on it.
Cycle count and state of healthFollow ageing over years, pack by pack.
Warnings and protectionsKnow why a pack stopped charging or discharging.

Bank totals

The dashboard also sums the bank: total stored energy, total power in or out, average state of charge, and the hottest and weakest pack at any moment.

Display options

  • Screen on the box: bank SOC, power and status, cycling through packs.
  • Local web dashboard at http://moniwatt.local, password protected.
  • Home Assistant via MQTT discovery, one device per pack.
  • JSON API for any other tool.
  • Remote dashboard (optional): access from anywhere, offline alerts, CSV export.

Works alongside your inverter

Your EG4 inverter keeps talking to the master battery as before. EG4 Monitor reads, never writes, and is designed not to disturb the closed-loop communication between battery and inverter. When you order, tell us your inverter model and how the batteries are linked, so we test that exact layout.
